2024
We tend to use Instagram for regular updates on our outings and doings. Last year we had some great accomplishments but also much heartbreak and loss.
Ripley finished her conformation Championship in style by taking Best of Winners for a 5 point major in a supported entry over the summer and then took Select Bitch her first day out as a special. Both girls earned several nosework titles, including their overall Scent Work Novice titles and several Advanced titles in AKC. Even more excitingly, Eve earned her NACSW NW1 and NW2 titles (taking 2nd place overall) and Ripley earned her NW1 title (taking 3rd place overall). Eve’s nosework accomplishments earned her her RRCUS Versatility and Versatility Excellent Certificates. Ripley earned her first two agility Qs in her first ever two agility runs– Nov FAST and JWW. Both girls got to try FASCAT for the first time.
Eve came very close to finishing her MACH, but we had to take much of the summer off to prioritize the health of one of our seniors, and then she had a pretty bad toe injury that we are still rehabbing. I’m hopeful we can get back to agility this spring, to get her last (37) points and finish the MACH, but right now we’re prioritizing her overall health and soundness and so taking rehab slow.
At the end of 2024, we lost 3 pets in 4 months. Torro at the end of August, at 13.5 years old, our cat Freya in November and then Cali on December 23rd at 15.5 years old. All 3 of them lived long lives and we are thankful that we had them in our lives for so long, but the losses are still heartbreaking, especially so close together. We ended the year grieving and tired.
We are hoping for a brighter 2025; looking forward to lots of nosework, some agility and maybe some other exciting adventures.
